My Stance On Illegal Immigration and Health Care

The position I take in regards to illegal immigration receiving health care is that we must deport illegal immigrants and limit immigration. I'm not sure yet how this proposal will work, but if done, the insurance premiums we pay can be lowered. Universal Health care is also an option in our future. Billions of dollars are lost each year because illegal immigrants receive free health care, while many sick Americans cannot afford health care because prices on insurance policies are way too high. This can be attributed to the influx of illegal immigrants that use American tax payer dollars, using public goods and services. Also, illegal immigrants contract diseases which in turn are passed onto locals of where they live. With more people getting sick, we have to allocate more resources and money to take care of these sick. Some of this problem can be attributed to illegal immigrants. That's why we must do something to deter them from crossing the border, or deport them.

Illegal Immigration and Health Care

Whether illegal or not, people need health-care. The controversy that undermines the U.S.'s health-care is whether or not illegal aliens are allowed to receive health-care in the United States. Even at the cost of taxpayer money, would a Doctor under hippocratic oath refuse to help one in dire need? Even though it costs millions of dollars, what about the bigger picture? The health care costs of the uninsured costs billions. Everyone is affected by the health care system, therefore are we able to reevaluate the policies that cloud the problem of health-care in general? Hospitals are not allowed to request citizenship of a patient, but is that really a right to someone who isn't part of the system? It is quite obvious that health care is important, but how important is it? Many illegal immigrants fear deportation if they seek health care, until a life or death situation arises. Doesn't this cause greater financial strains on those who pay for health-care? The rising costs of insurance premiums and medical bills can be attributed to those illegals who receive free health care in the United States. There are even underground and illegal health care that illegal aliens receive. Should they be granted the option of having health care without paying for it? There are many ways this controversy sets its foot into many of our lives.
